Fishing charter boat Captain “Clarke Mixson” began his boating career in 1976 at the age of 18 on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. That summer job took him through college at Presbyterian College in S.C. After graduation, he lived the life of “Deadliest Catch” working on a King Crab fishing boat out of Alaska. The warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico eventually called Clarke back home where he ran the harbor pilot boats in Tampa Bay, Florida before signing on as the captain of hydrographic survey boats for the Navy and NASA. After traveling all over the country doing marine survey work, Clarke turned his attention to running private MOTOR YACHTS ranging from 92 to 124 feet out of Daytona Beach for various NASCAR Owners. Clarke has enjoyed the past few years catching fish in the Gulf of Mexico with the owner of a Fishing charter boat “ISLAND BREEZE” using the boat’s amazing deep-drop power reel. He is looking forward to bringing this technology to the Caribbean to entertain guests and feed them with the bounty the power reel retrieves from the deep ocean. Clarke loves preparing fresh sushi and grilling fish on Island Breeze’s outdoor BBQ. When he’s not catching fish, you’ll find Clarke leading scuba diving trips and exploring wrecks and reefs with guests or entertaining them with his many tales from his life on the water. Clarke holds a Padi Dive Master certification and a 100-ton Master’s Captain’s license. Clarke lists his three boating priorities as Safety, comfort, and having fun!
