Sean O'Grady

Sean O'Grady

Captain

American · English

Captain Sean O'Grady
Captain Sean O’Grady discovered a love for the ocean at an early age while sailing with his father, setting the course for a lifelong connection to the sea. After a brief time away from the water, he returned to sailing in San Francisco Bay, where he quickly immersed himself in both racing and charter work.

Since 2018, Sean has worked with USA76, a former America’s Cup IACC yacht, gaining invaluable experience aboard one of the sport’s most iconic vessels. His maritime background also includes commercial fishing in Alaska, sport fish guiding, and time aboard large private yachts. He later served as both Maintenance Director and Captain for a pair of Santa Cruz 70s in Monterey Bay, where he spent two years overseeing operations and delivering unforgettable sailing experiences.

Now based in the Caribbean, Captain Sean brings expertise, enthusiasm, and an easygoing nature to every charter. He holds a 100 Ton Near Coastal Master License with STCW, Sail, and Assistance Towing endorsements, and places the highest priority on safety, service, and guest enjoyment.

His philosophy as a captain is simple: create a fun, relaxed atmosphere where everyone can laugh, connect, and fully embrace the beauty and adventure of island life.

Daryl Hanna

Daryl Hanna

Chef/First Mate

American · English

Chef Daryl Hanna
Chef Daryl was born in Ohio and raised in South Carolina. He moved to the Virgin Islands at the age of 23 and has now called the islands home for nearly 20 years. His culinary path began early, working in various restaurants throughout high school and university in the Palmetto State.

After moving to St. Croix, Daryl built a full-time career as a chef, including a tenure as Executive Chef at Savant, consistently ranked among the Caribbean’s top-ten restaurants and frequented by celebrities and even a former U.S. president while vacationing with his family. During his time at Savant, he received numerous accolades, including recognition from USA Today, Pacific Tribune, and Caribbean Journal.

Daryl’s cooking style is best described as a fusion of French, Asian, and Caribbean cuisine, with a touch of down-home Southern cooking. His food is flavorful, thoughtful, and rooted in both refined technique and island inspiration.

Alongside his culinary career, Daryl continued his passion for sailing. He has owned multiple sailboats over the years, cruising the Caribbean and traveling the world during the Caribbean hurricane season. He currently holds a USCG 100 Ton Master’s License and many additional safety certifications, including Advanced Fire Fighting and Medical Care Provider.

An avid fisherman, Daryl loves trolling a couple of lines to see what fresh catch he can bring in for guests, whether it becomes fresh tuna poke, mahi ceviche, or another island-inspired favorite. He looks forward to helping guests enjoy their dream sailing vacation in the beautiful Virgin Islands with full bellies, smiling faces, and happy hearts.

Brian & Jessi,

You made this an absolutely unforgettable vacation. From the moment we stepped onboard, your hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail were incredible. Brian made every excursion fun and seamless, while Jessi’s meals and drinks were truly phenomenal. Together, they are an amazing team and made our 40th anniversary trip so memorable. We appreciated everything you did to create such a fun, relaxing, and first-class experience. This was hands down one of the best vacations ever, and we can’t wait to charter with them again!

April 2026

Ohana, was truly special and luxurious. We LOVE the galley down with more social room in the salon. Brian and Jessi were the ULTIMATE crew. They became family to us and we had them share movie nights with us and took them ashore to dinner. I can only write a love letter to you all for all the guidance and the best crews ever. We'll be doing this again next year and can't wait. Meanwhile, we're missing Jessi's delicious food after one night at home. Brian would find the most secluded and special places to just relax and enjoy the water without the crowds. Our family loved them both and keep saying this was the trip of a lifetime. THANK YOU.

What an absolutely perfect trip. Good sails, warm seas, beautiful anchorages, a welcoming vessel, and truly the best crew ever.

The food and drinks…

Jessi - a total 5-star culinary experience! Every meal prepared to perfection and plated as a work of art — kudos! We will be dreaming about those poke bowls.

Brian - captain and legendary bartender, you kept everything running smooth and spirits high in every way.

Lacy’s 50th was a full-on rock star week. Thank you for taking such great care of us. We will carry the memories for a lifetime. Pow wow!

Jessi & Brian,

Thank you so much for an incredible time sailing around the BVIs. It truly felt like a week in paradise! We had such a fun time experiencing everything — the sails, snorkeling, beaches, sea life, and exploring the beautiful clear water and reefs. There was never a dull moment, and every day was filled with fun.

One of our favorite parts was paddle boarding around and seeing the fish and stunning reefs up close. Thank you also for the wonderful hospitality, the amazing food, and for sharing your beautiful Ohana with us. We truly enjoyed every moment.

Brian & Jessi,
Thank you both for hosting us for such a beautiful and incredible week in the BVI. We are so grateful for your top-notch hospitality, thoughtful planning, and all of your help throughout the trip. This was truly the best experience out of our three BVI adventures.

We loved every part of it...from the great conversations and unforgettable memories to the amazing food (the avocado toast was miraculous!) and wonderful sailing. The amenities on your beautiful boat made everything even more special, and the drinks certainly went down easy for our group. Our love for the ocean and the BVI only continues to grow as we make memories with friends and crew like you.

We hope to come aboard again for another adventure in the future. Cheers to you both, and safe sailing until we meet again.

All our best,
Smith, Vickers, Eggleston & Brunes
