BVI Power catamaran Blue Horizon is a 2011 Horizon PC 60. Well, they are appointed with space similar to a much larger yacht. Her sleek, modern, clean lines are impressive at anchor or at the dock.
I had the pleasure of cruising on the BVI Power Catamaran BLUE HORIZON from Tortola to St. Thomas. It was a very smooth, comfortable experience. We cruised at 10 knots in light seas while enjoying the air-conditioned flybridge with 360-degree views.
The salon, bar, and gourmet galley integrate seamlessly and form a large and comfortable area for entertaining. The galley has proportions and amenities equal to that of a luxury apartment. At the same time, the large salon offers exceptionally comfortable seating and unobstructed views through the large side windows and aft salon sliding doors. The internal stairs to access the flybridge from the salon are an excellent feature and provide easy access to the helm while cruising.
With a beautiful teak deck, the cockpit is spectacularly large and offers combined seating plus dining for as many as 14 in comfort. The aft deck has a sizeable sofa-style seating with side counters for drinks and snacks. The large solid wood cockpit table is beautifully handcrafted and seats 8 in comfort. Access to the flybridge is via wide, comfortable stairs.
The flybridge is a large area to entertain and relax. Six people can dine in comfort. There is a well-designed bar with bar stools, a built-in BBQ, basin, fridge/icemaker, plus plenty of storage. The aft section of the flybridge houses the dinghy crane and sufficient space for a 13ft tender. The helm consul has a fold-down glass screen to protect the instruments from the elements. The twin helm seats complete this wonderful area.
The BVI power catamaran Blue Horizon features a lavish on-deck master stateroom with a full walk-around King bed, gourmet galley, and spacious salon, ensuring ultimate comfort.
Blue Horizon can accommodate six guests in 3 cabins. The Master cabin has a king-size bed, shower, and toilet. A VIP cabin has a queen-size bed, shower, and toilet. A Guest cabin has two twin beds that can convert to a king, shower, and toilet. Blue Horizon is fully air-conditioned throughout, with individual room controls.
Alex is a dynamic and supportive ship captain of Irish origins and has been playing rugby and as well sailing competitively for 15 years with St. George Yacht club. He has been the outright winner of most cruiser racing events in the UK and Ireland. His experience includes over 30,000 charter miles with guests and 30,000 delivery miles on racing and private sailing yachts. Alex has attended a German primary school and thus has spoken the language for many years.
Euslyn is a friendly and dedicated chef/stewardess, and as her previous guests commented, ‘she is just a great human being!’ She is eager to help make your charter holiday the trip of a lifetime! She is originally from Grenada but has a vast knowledge of the BVI, having called the BVI home for the last 25+ years. Euslyn has been working in the yachting industry as a chef for the past 10+ years, primarily on private yachts up to 120′.
There are three charter price options when chartering BLUE HORIZON:
“Fully Crewed” with a captain and chef for a maximum of four guests in two staterooms.
Rate: The rate for 4 guests is $24,300/wk + 30% APA for expenses (high season)
“Captain-only” for up to 6 guests in three staterooms, two doubles, and a twin cabin. The twin cabin shares the head and shower with the captain. The captain on Blue Horizon will do all the driving/helming, and the yacht operates as a ‘traditional’ captained yacht, where the captain drives, plans the itinerary, etc. There is no chef on board and guests are responsible for coordinating their meals.
Rate for 6 guests is $22,900/ per week + 10% APA for expenses (high season)
“Accompanied bareboat” – up to 6 guests. Guests can drive, helm and operate the vessel themselves during the charter. A full-time captain will be on board to dock the vessel, assist with lowering the tender, etc.. The listed bareboat rate includes the captain, who has a separate crew cabin. BLUE HORIZON is the largest and most luxurious yacht to be offered for guests to drive and operate anywhere in the BVI! The rate for 6 guests is $22,900/ per week + 10% APA for expenses (high season)
Fully-Crewed: including the yacht, captain, and chef, with a maximum of 4 guests.
Captain only or ‘accompanied bareboat‘: including yacht and captain, with a maximum of 6 guests.
