Enjoy their insights:
Our first season in Vava’u, Tonga has begun and is living up to all of our expectations of this wonderful place.
Our guests have had the chance to dive in some amazing and undiscovered
places and see all sorts of new and exciting sea-life. They have been invited to lunch with a Tongan family on their beach and attended traditional Kava evenings.
All in all, this place has so much to offer the more discerning guest who wants to try somewhere different.
The islands and beaches really are beautiful and deserted; on Christmas Day this year, we had this beautiful anchorage to ourselves.
June sees the start of the Humpback whale season when the Mothers come into the protected waters of Vava’u to have their young and then mate again.
Daily sightings (even hourly sometimes) are commonplace, so we have equipped TIBS with underwater cameras and a hydrophone to make the experience even more exciting for our guests.
Travel time seems to be the biggest problem for our guests, but the connections from LAX via Fiji are pretty good and getting better. We recommend breaking up the journey with a day or two in Fiji en route to Vava’u. Guests then arrive relaxed and in the island spirit, ready for an exciting charter.
All the very best from Stu & Fran, S/Y Two if by Sea
