Activities at Canouan Island Resort
Tee yourself up for a round of golf on one of the world’s most picturesque courses. Scuba dive on an amazing coral reef, take a coastal hike to secluded beaches and bays and sail across azure seas. Complete your day with fine dining, cocktails against palm trees, and dreamy sunsets. What more could you want?
Canouan is renowned for its gorgeous white sand beaches, sheltered bays, and coral reefs. Surrounding the Cancun Resort, Carenage Bay and Godahl Bay are stunning. South of Raffles along the windward coast, Windward Bay and Friendship Bay have wonderful beaches. The beach at Windward Bay also has interesting volcanic rock formations. On the leeward coast, Charlestown Bay is a popular and pretty white sand beach, and in the west, South Glossy Beach is absolutely idyllic. Most beaches are great for swimming, as they are protected by land topography or barrier reefs.
Play 18 holes at the Jim Fazio-designed Golf Course on Canouan, located within the expansive and breathtaking grounds of the luxurious Canouan Resort. This is one of the most visually stunning golf courses in the world.
At the heart of the Grenadines, Canouan is ideally placed for an unforgettable sailing adventure. Start your yacht chartering trip here, drop anchor, and stop in for a touch of elegance. Click Here to learn more about yacht chartering.
Canouan has extensive offshore reef formations that offer good diving and snorkeling opportunities. Dive along a stunning barrier reef, and take a long look into a world of striking colours and life. Hard and soft corals, sea fans, and interesting boulder formations attract a variety of colourful marine life, as well as sea turtles that lay their eggs on our windward beaches at certain times of the year.
Take a hike along coastal roads and hillside tracks for fantastic views and delightful bays and beaches. Exploring the rugged hills of northern Canouan makes for great hiking. Mount Royal offers wonderfully uninterrupted views of the islands of the Southern Grenadines. Secluded coves and hard-to-reach beaches like the one at Mahault Bay are rewarding discoveries.
South of the Canouan Resort, a hike from the jetport northwards along the windward coastal road offers excellent views and access to white-sand beaches and picturesque bays. On the hillside to the north of Charlestown, look for a small parkland area with a trail to the ruins of a small gun battery located at the top of a conical hill. Again, there are great views of the windward coastline.
