BVI Full Moon Parties – The Full Moon comes but only once a month, so why not celebrate it? Trellis Bay and Bomba’s Shack are the BVI party hot spots, but which is best for me?
This Full Moon Party is for the entire family, from kids to grownups. With steel drums, Moko Jumbies dancing, Reggae Bands, a Caribbean Buffet, and of course the spectacular FireBalls! The FireBalls are a huge attraction for this Full Moon Party where the whole beach turns into a great nightlife area.
Bomba’s Shack, West End, Tortola, is where the tradition of Full Moon Parties began. In 1989, the infamous Bomba (owner and operator of Bomba’s Shack) decided to hold full moon parties for Islanders and visitors alike; everyone loved it so much that the tradition stuck. Much like an island-style tailgate party, it’s an excellent opportunity for people-watching, imbibing, and having a great time!
The Trellis Bay party is more “family-friendly”. Bomba’s is extremely crowded, it doesn’t start until VERY late, and some of the partiers – who have already been drinking – may be a bit rowdy. While you are more likely to encounter some “inappropriate” behavior at Bomba’s, neither party is dangerous and you will see families at both. The Trellis Bay party is on the beach; Bomba’s is in the shack (and in the street in front of the shack).
Both Full Moon Parties are set in Tortola, British Virgin Islands
Charter a crewed yacht and spend a week in the Virgin Islands during the Full Moon and enjoy one of these Full Moon parties.
